Come aboard the Condor Express for a winter whale watching adventure. We are currently seeing very friendly humpback whales, dolphins, California Sea Lions and once in a while a special surprise.
We are cruising in the Santa Barbara Channel particularly near Santa Cruz Island. On one of our recent trips we saw 4 humpback whales, 500 long-beaked common dolphins, scattered groups of California sea lions and one sunfish in the fog (Mola mola).
On this same trip a very cooperative humpback whale found the Condor Express. It had short down times and made several friendly close passes by the boat. A short while later, a second humpback whale came in and joined the first one. The newcomer mugged us and swam back and forth under the bow. The whale had great looks at all us humans on the boat.
As we moved southeast towards the middle of beautiful Santa Cruz Island, two more humpback whales were encountered. They were moving west and gave good looks. On the way home a nice-sized pod of dolphins came to play. There were at least 500 in the group. A dinner plate sized ocean sunfish, or Mola mola, was found and we slowed down for some observations.
Currently there is one trip per day: 10:00 am – 2:30 pm. For tickets or more information on Condor Express Whale Watching trips, go to condorexpress.com, call our booking agent Sea Landing (805)882-0088, email us firstname.lastname@example.org
