Captain Dave reports from the Condor Express that the following were closely observed:
Six humpback whales including a cow-calf pair. The humpbacks were watched lunge feeding on the surface and many more humpbacks were seen in the near distance. Five blue whales were also watched in a different area of the Channel. There was another area rich with humpbacks as the Condor Express left the blues behind en route to the harbor. If all that is not enough to satisfy any cetacean lover, common dolphins were seen non stop throughout the day as there was so much food in the water everywhere….a very modest estimate was 3,000 dolphins.
Conditions were similar to yesterday with some fog, and a lot of low overcast…but sea conditions were very good.
Don’t forget the Santa Barbara Ocean Festival this Saturday.
