Humpback Whale Playing

The final whale watch cruise of the old Condor happened today, and Captain Dave reports the following sightings: Four humpback whales playing were seen, and two of them got feisty. They lobbed and threw their tails around much to the surprise and enjoyment of all on board. In addition, Dave says there were 150 – 200 common dolphins. Since they were in the area, the Condor added a little trip to the gas seeps and various bubble holes up at Coal Oil Point (aka, Counter Point). It was a gorgeous sunny day on the Channel.

The old Condor is leaving for its home port, San Diego, and tomorrow we welcome the Condor Express back home to Santa Barbara. The Express has been completely refurbished after a wheelhouse fire three months ago sent her to the boat yard. All new navionics and interior trimmings are now installed.

The Condor Express will run its first homecoming whale watch this Saturday, from 10am to approximately 230pm. I hope to see you on board !
