Captain Dave and the crew reported nice wildlife-watching conditions in The Channel: skies were sunny and there was not much wind. Two trips left the dock, 9a and 12n. Total sightings for the day included: 6 humpback whales and 400 common dolphins.
We watched a pair of humpback whales on the morning trip.
After running 18 miles southeast, the whales were located near Platform Gilda and The Lanes. Good looks were had by all.
At 3pm we found the morning humpbacks near Habitat, and another 2 humpbacks there as well. We settled in for a great sighting. A nearby birdnado and a herd of common dolphins also kept us on our toes.
You never know what Mother Nature has in store.
