Captain Tasha and the crew of the Condor Express worked along the mainland coast to the west, then turned offshore and ended up south of The Lanes near Santa Rosa Island. Seas were moderate but nonetheless the following were closely watched: 2500 long-beaked common dolphins and 1 humpback whale. Hundreds of sea lions were also around in large groups today, but populations were not estimated.
The coastal leg of the adventure ran up past Platform Holly where two large pods of dolphins and a lot of sea lions were found feeding. Seabirds were also very numerous in the area. From this position Tasha headed across the Santa Barbara Channel.
South of The Lanes and north of Santa Rosa Island more large aggregations of dolphins, sea lions and seabirds were watched. This group included a single humpback whale which was especially fun to watch as the breeze carried its spout spray far and wide.
