A single trip left the docks at noon under clear, warm sunny skies. Total sightings for the trip included a whopping 1,600 long-beaked common dolphins and one gray whale. What a great dolphin show it was!
Captain Dave ran west as far as Coal Oil Point (past Isla Vista) to locate the gray whale. He then proceeded to follow this whale west past Naples Reef. Great looks were had and were enhanced by the great blue water clarity.
Moving a few miles offshore and then east towards Santa Barbara Harbor, two large schools of dolphins, separated by about a mile, located the Condor Express and put on a wonderful dolphin show.
