Image: A mother gray whale and her calf.
2023 04-18 SB Coast
A special charter whale watch today with blue skies and moderately bumpy seas. Sightings: 2 Pacific gray whales.
Captain Devin and the crew headed up the coast from the harbor and encountered a mother gray whale with her calf all the way up near Haskell’s Beach. We followed them at a respectful distance and had great looks. They were in “travel/migration” mode and terminal dives in their cycle were not deep…they could be seen swimming beneath the surface.
You never know what mother nature has in store.
