Countless dolphins and More

Another flat, calm day on the Santa Barbara Channel and we watched dolphins everywhere, from the coast to the island and back again.  The crew gave up counting as the total population size was so large it was not possible to give an accurate estimate. This is the kind of “problem” we like to have… too many #dolphins.  Among the north Channel dolphins we once again were greeted by Top Notch the humpback whale with a notch in its dorsal fin.  As has been its custom, TN gave us plenty of good looks and provided lots of time for us to enjoy the 4 or more Minke whales also in this region of the Channel.  All this was followed by a wonderful trip across to the world famous Painted Cave and a tour of the north coast of Santa Cruz Island.  It’s a tough life but someone has to do it.

Remember:  Monday’s trip runs from 1 pm to 530 pm.
