Five Gray Whales + Common Dolphins

Five Gray Whales + Common Dolphins

Captain Dave ran the Condor Express out to the Santa Cruz Channel (between Santa Rosa and Santa Cruz Islands) and ended up watching 6 gray whales with more spouts in the distance.   The southbound gray whale migration is really heating up!  Two of the gray whales were spotted in the middle of the Santa Barbara Channel near the shipping lanes.  Sea conditions were moderately good until we got around Fraser Point into the Sta Cruz Channel where things were very calm and nice.  The sun was bright and sunny all day…a fine winter day on the ocean.   In addition we watched about 50 long-beaked common dolphins in small groups here and there during the trip. Wow!  What a day.

We are running whale watch trips all week…hope to see you on board. You never know what Mother Nature has in store. Bob Pery Condor Express
