A single 12 noon excursion was run today. Captain Colton and his crew found ideal, glassy water today and closely watched 5 gray whales. The whales were located 3 miles offshore, and all were large, adult animals. The first encounter was with a pair of whales off Leadbetter Beach. We followed them on their northbound migration, and had great looks, until an additional three were noticed behind the boat. Colton turned around, headed east and then proceeded to watch and follow the trio. The second sighting was topped-off by the 3 whales being very active socially…rolling, showing pectoral fins, and head-lifting.
