2019 03-26 SB Coast
A single trip left the docks at 12 noon today and had great sea conditions for finding and watching cetaceans. Total sightings for the trip today included two gray whales, eight bottlenose dolphins, and 750 long-beaked common dolphins.
Just west of the harbor, near the lighthouse, a pair of juvenile gray whales were found traveling along the coast. At one point this pair intersected a pod of eight inshore bottlenose dolphins. One of the whales interacted with the dolphins and began rolling around and socializing. It was very cool to see. Moving offshore, Captain Tasha and the crew of the Condor Express located a megapod of common dolphins. We had great looks as these very active animals rode our bow, side, and Stefan waves.
