2019 06-23 SB Channel
Captain Colton and the crew reported seeing 12 humpback whales, and 1500 long-beaked common dolphins. Sea conditions were good, and the cruise went out to the mid Channel area then headed west. Lots of cool things happened along the way.
One of the cool things we saw was a familiar whale that has a single large (orca?) bite out of its tail flukes. There was also a little bit of surface lunge feeding going on in the near distance. As we continued to move west, the eagle eyes of our deckhand Devin spotted some awesome breaching going on. We continued into that area and found a very active whale. We saw pect slapping, tail lobbing, and some very close breaching. It was a fantastic day on the water.
