2019 03-13 SB Coast
Six very cooperative gray whales were closely watched today. A single 12 noon trip left the docks and we ran up along the coast to the west, before moving offshore. Skies were clear and sunny. Seas were calm and the wind kept dropping all day. Captain Dave and the crew of the Condor express made it happen again!
The first 3 whales were located right along the coast. A single whale was spotted and it was followed by a pair. This sighting started around the lighthouse. Wonderful looks were had by all.
Dave then took the boat offshore where three spouts had been seen. This sighting consisted of three whales traveling together, and they put on quite a show. There was a lot of socializing going on including rolling around, swimming on their sides, and zigzagging all over the place. The energy was contagious! All of the whales today were headed north towards Alaska.
You never know what Mother Nature has in store.
