Capt Dave and the crew of the Condor Express ran three trips today, one each at 9 AM, 12 noon, and 3 PM. Excellent sea conditions and weather was encountered on all three trips! Total sightings for the day included one Minke whale, eight humpback whales, four Pacific white-sided dolphins, and 1,025 long-beaked common dolphins.
On the morning trip we watched a Minke whale just outside the harbor. After that we ran south east to The Flats. Along the way, 4 white-sided dolphins found us as well as 25 common dolphins. In the flats there were two pairs of humpback whales and we had absolutely fantastic looks.
On the noon trip we ran back to The Flats and found two additional humpback whales. Again, great sightings. In the afternoon we found two more humpbacks and one of them breached! On the way back to the harbor a megapod of at least 1000 common dolphins located the boat. Everyone enjoyed watching these agile creatures surf our bow, side, and stern waves. You never know what mother nature has in store. Bob Perry
