Captain Eric and his crew located 1 Minke whale, 2 humpback whales, 3 blue whales and 1,000 long-beaked common dolphins. Our great weather and sea conditions “streak” continued again today. The Condor Express searched both sides of the Santa Barbara Channel with great success.
Near the Carpinteria oil rigs 1 Minke whale and a few hundred dolphins were watched closely. The dolphins found the boat and rode the waves all around and enjoyed the adoration of their fans. Eric headed south towards Santa Cruz Island. On the blue whale grounds, the giants did not disappoint. Three giants were closely watched and one of them was a regular tail-fluker.
On the way home 2 humpback whales and many hundreds of dolphins were located and a great sighting took place. The humpbacks put up their tail flukes on most every terminal dive – spectacular!
