Capt and Dave and the crew found excellent sea conditions… calm and sunny. The sightings today were also wonderful: 3 humpback whales, 1500 long-beaked common dolphins, and 200 offshore bottlenose dolphins. Seeing that many offshore bottlenose is extremely rare and lots of fun. Sightings started about 10 miles offshore we had a group of about 100 dolphins and we found a single small/juvenile whale. The whale was good at showing its flukes. On the other hand it had a long down time, apparently feeding below the surface quite deep.
Not long after our first whale the Condor Express was located by a monster herd of bottlenose dolphins that was spread out over a mile of water. They were very boat friendly and spent a lot of time paying us visits. They rode our waves: bow, side and stern. Moving into the lanes there were dolphins everywhere. As we watched the friendly dolphins two additional whales appeared in the area. The two whales came together did some diving and swimming, then split up, then came together, and repeated this pattern. You never know what Mother Nature has in store.
